Nearly every day he went to a Chicago building complex that housed city hall and other municipal offices. Unlike his mentor, Capone made no attempt to keep a low profile. It’s not clear if Capone was aware that Sonny’s condition was his own fault; the boy had inherited congenital syphilis from his father.

Dolan and Murphy did their best to drive Tunstall out of business. Tunstall fought back, unsuccessfully, with legal actions. Realizing he was getting nowhere, Tunstall changed tack.
